twostepcub's music chart for August 13, 2021...

Friday's here, and it's time to run down my top 100 "hit" tunes from the previous week. Ed Sheeran races his way to the #1 spot, while Modest Mouse (pictured above) climb a pair of notches in the top ten. Songs from Scotty McCreery, Anabel Englund, and Maneskin make some of the biggest jumps (moves of 10+ places highlighted in red), while former big hits from 24kGoldn, ATB, and Brett Young drop off my list. And right under the chart I Spotify playlisted everything for five and a half hours of listening goodness.  I guess it's staycation #2 - thanks antivax/antimask a-holes!

Dua Lipa claims the top debut of the week at #79 with "Love Again", the sixth song from her expanded Future Nostalgia album to make my chart - "Levitating" is still floating at #27. This new one samples White Town's 90's hit "Your Woman", which in turn sampled the Bing Crosby-written "My Woman" from 1932...

German DJ/producer Jonas Kröper, who records under the moniker Jonasu, makes his first appearance on my list at #83 with the British top ten hit "Black Magic"...

Australian indie-folk singer/songwriter Vance Joy is back at #85 with his newest, "Missing Piece"...

Swedish dance-pop artist Zara Larsson enters at #87 with "Right Here", from her third album Poster Girl...

Country band Old Dominion preview their upcoming fourth album with "I Was On A Boat That Day" at #92...

Ed Service and Jack Madin are the Australian dance music duo Shouse, and shuffle in at #95 with their #1 dance radio hit "Love Tonight"...

The last concert I went to before the pandemilovato was from this stellar soul singer Yola, who shines in with "Starlight" at #97...

Illenium, aka DJ/producer Nicholas Miller, sees yet another track from his Fallen Embers album reach my list. This time it's with Tori Kelly on "Blame Myself" at #99...

The final newbie at #100 is from American Authors, who bring Sugar Ray frontman Mark McGrath on board for "Nice & Easy"...
