Disco Dessert 8/23/21 - "Walking Down Madison" by Kirsty MacColl...

 

 

"Walking Down Madison" was a club hit for the late British singer Kirsty MacColl.  Appearing on her album Electric Landlady, the song was written by MacColl with former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr and produced by her husband Steve Lillywhite. On Billboard magazine's Dance Club Play chart, the single peaked at #18 in 1991, while reaching #4 on their Alternative Rock radio chart. Sadly, MacColl died from being hit by a speedboat protecting her child in 2000.
