"On The Upside" was a club hit for singer Xena (aka Paula West). Released as a stand-alone single, the song was written by Curtis Josephs and Ann Godwin, and produced by Mark Liggett and Chris Barbosa, who also helmed labelmate Shannon's huge hit "Let The Music Play". On Billboard magazine's Dance/Disco Top-80 chart, the single peaked at #7 in 1984.
