Album Sweep: October 19, 2013 - Part Two...



It's time for part two of this week's "album sweep" sampling the albums reaching the Top 200 Albums chart in Billboard magazine for the first time; you can check out part one by clicking here, and as before I've included links to buy anything if possible.

We saw Lorde's full-length album arrive at #3, and now her Love Club EP, which came out earlier this year, also comes in at #65...

Electronica music icon Moby returns at #66 with his eleventh studio album Innocents. He had a string of five albums reach the top 40 on the albums chart, with 18 going as high as #4 in 2002...


R&B brother duo K-Ci & JoJo are also back with their first studio album in eleven years as My Brother's Keeper enters at #77. Their first set after leaving Jodeci, Love Always, went to #6 in 1997...


Heavy metal band Soulfly, led by former Sepultura frontman Max Cavalera, comes in at #84 with their ninth studio album Savages. They have taken one album, 2000's Primitive (their second), into the top-40 at #32...


Contemporary Christian music artist Laura Story ascends to #103 with God Of Every Story. Her last set, Blessings, peaked at #30...


Christian rap artist Flame arrives at #108 with his seventh studio record Royal Flush. His last album, The 6th, went to #67 last year...


Country music icon-turned-tabloid fodder Randy Travis is remarkably back at #120 with Influence: Vol. 1: The Man I Am. In his career Randy has placed seven albums in the Top 200's top 40, with 2008's Around The Bend going the highest at #14...


Stone Sour has been a very successful side project for two of the members of Slipknot, and now another, drummer Joey Jordison, has his own with the heavy metal group Scar The Martyr, who come in at #129 with their self-titled full-length debut...


Americana sibling act the Wood Brothers score their first hit on the big chart at #145 with The Muse...


Phantogram, an electronica music duo from upstate New York, drop in at #155 with a self-titled four-track EP...


Progressive metal band Fates Warning return at #162 with Darkness In A Different Light, their first studio album in nine years. In 1988, they took No Exit to #111...


The Nick Hexum quintet, a side project for the lead singer from the alt-rock band 311, debuts at #164 with My Shadow Pages. With his band he's gone to the top-10 with eight albums...


Actor and singer Mack Wilds has been seen on The Wire and 90210, and now he's on the music charts at #179 with New York: A Love Story, his first set...


The last debut of the week at #196 belongs to Dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation with their four-song EP Paradise (What About Us?)...
