Soul Sweep: October 12, 2013...
We're at the "hump" of this week's "chart sweeps" sampling the songs making the singles charts in Billboard magazine, and this time out it's the newest on R&B radio...
On the main R&B/HipHop Airplay chart, Robin Thicke hangs tight for an eleventh week at #1 with "Blurred Lines"...
The top debut at #45 is by rotund rapper Rick Ross with "No Games" featuring Future. It's the first track from his upcoming studio album Mastermind. He's had six top-10 R&B hits (all before the "songs" list got jacked up), with "Aston Martin Music" reaching #2 in 2010...

Wale comes in at #47 with "Clappers" featuring Nicki Minaj and Juicy J...
And at #49, Miley Cyrus gets her first hit on the R&B chart as a featured artist on producer Mike Will-Made-It's "23". It also has Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J on the track. (Lord, Juicy J is the new sloppy Pitbull)....
Meanwhile, on the older-skewing Adult R&B radio panel, "Blurred Lines" also is on top for a ninth week...
The top entry at #34 is rapper/singer Drake with his smooth "Hold On, We're Going Home"....
...and at #36 is singer Mario with "Fatal Distraction", my "Soul Pick of the Week". Four years ago, he was on the main R&B chart at #2 with "Break Up"...
That's all the soul side of things...I'll be back in 90 with the latest on country radio... Groove on!
