Robbed hit of the week 8/17/20 - Donna Lewis' "Without Love"...

"Without Love" - Donna Lewis
from the album Now In A Minute (1996)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #41 (one week)

This week's robbed hit comes from Welsh pop singer/songwriter Donna Lewis, who scored one of the biggest hits of 1996 with her debut single "I Love You Always Forever", which spent nine weeks in the runner-up spot (#2) on Billboard magazine's official pop Hot 100 chart in the summer of 1996. Donna's next release from her first record would be "Without Love", written by the singer with Dave Taylor. The spacey midtempo track was in the same vein as her breakthrough, with a little more beat added to the mix...

Although "Without Love" climbed into Billboard's Adult Top-40 radio chart at #36, the single stopped one notch short of the coveted Hot 100 top-40 in February of 1997. The song did manage to slip into that level in her homeland UK at #39, while in Canada it did the best, cresting at #12.
