Disco Dessert 8/14/20 - "You're The One For Me" from D-Train...
"You're The One For Me" was a huge club hit for the band "D" Train, led by singer James "D Train" Williams and keyboardist Hubert Eaves III. Appearing on the duo's debut album You're The One For Me, the song was produced by Eaves, who wrote the track with Williams. On Billboard magazine's Disco Top-80 chart, the single spent three weeks at #1 at the beginning of 1982. A few months later, the You're The One For Me album made the chart with "Keep On" and "You're The One For Me" listed as key cuts, and rose again to spent a month (four weeks) at #2. I know I featured the "House Music Anthem" earlier this week, but in my mind this truly is the first true house music record, and one of my all-time favorite dance songs...
