"Dance A Little Bit Closer" was a club hit for the singer/actress/celebrity phenomenon known to the world as Charo. Born María del Rosario Mercedes Pilar Martínez Molina Baeza in Spain, Charo recorded this song with the Salsoul Orchestra for her debut album Cuchi-Cuchi. The track peaked at #18 on the National Disco Action Top-40 in Billboard magazine in1978, while just missing the top-40 in the UK at #44 (it "bubbled under" the American pop Hot 100 at #104).,,
