"Why Leave Us Alone" was a club hit for the soul vocal group Five Special. Appearing on their self-titled debut album, the Detroit-based band featured Bryan Banks, whose brother Ron was in the Dramatics. On the Disco Top-80 chart in Billboard magazine, the song peaked at #34 in 1979, while it reached the top ten on their R&B chart at #9, and slipped on to the pop Hot 100 at #58.
