Disco Dessert 7/21/19 - "The Boss" from Diana Ross...

"The Boss" was a club hit for former Supreme and Motown music legend Diana Ross. Appearing on her album of the same name, the track was written and produced by the husband and wife team of Nicholas Ashford and Valerie Simpson. The Boss charted as an entire album, with no cuts listed separately, and spent two weeks at #1 on Billboard magazine's Disco Top 80 chart in 1979. The song also peaked at #19 on the pop chart and #12 on the R&B list.
