"Contact" was a huge club hit for R&B singer/songwriter Edwin Starr. Appearing on his album Clean, the song was produced by Starr, who co-wrote the track with Robert Dickerson and Arthur Pullam. The single spent a week at #1 on the National Disco Action Top-40 chart in 1979. It made it to #65 on the American pop charts, but across the pond in the UK the song rose to #6.
