Disco Dessert 5/10/19 - "Hi-Jack" from Barrabas..

"Hi-Jack" was a club hit for the Spanish funk-rock band Barrabás. Apprearing on their album ¡Soltad a Barrabás!, the song was written by Fernando Arbex. "Hi-Jack" spent four weeks at #2 on the Disco File Top-20 chart in Billboard magazine. It also "bubbled under" the pop Hot 100 at #104. Later in the year jazz artist Herbie Mann covered the song with Cissy Houston and reached the R&B and pop top-40.
