Soul Sweep: July 5, 2014...

We're at the "hump" of today's "chart sweeps", sampling the songs making the radio charts in Billboard magazine, and this time I'm serving up the latest on R&B radio.

On the main R&B/HipHop Airplay chart, Chris Brown spends a fifth week on top with "Loyal"...

The top debut at #34 is rapper T.I. with "No Mediocre" featuring Aussie rapper Iggy Azalea. He topped this chart with "Whatever You Like" and "What You Know"...

Jennifer Hudson moves in at #46 with "Walk It Out" featuring Timbaland. It also is at #25 on the Adult R&B chart...

Alt-soul singer Marsha Ambrosius enters at #48 with "Run". The single moves up to #16 on the Adult R&B list in its tenth week...

Meanwhile, on the older-skewing Adult R&B radio panel, Michael Jackson claims his third #1 hit at the format with "Love Never Felt So Good" with Justin Timberlake (the latter's first chart-topper here)...

The sole debut at #30 is "Forever Love" by Kandi with Q Parker. It's from the musical A Mother's Love, but there's no video clip for it as yet...

Lastly, on the Rhythmic format, which includes some dance music in their playlists, Iggy Azalea remains at #1 with "Fancy" for a fourth week...

Sam Smith comes in at #35 with his sublime "Stay With Me"...

Trey Songz follows up his #1 hit "Na Na" with "Foreign" at #39. It's my "Soul Pick of the week"...

I'll return with the latest on country radio...groove on!
