Rock Sweep: June 21, 2014...






Round two of today's "chart sweeps" has the latest songs on rock radio, as monitored by Billboard magazine.

On their main Rock Airplay chart, The Black Keys reign for a fifth week with "Fever"...

"Black" is having a good week, as the sole entry on the main chart at #48 are Black Stone Cherry with "Me And Mary Jane". The Kentucky southern rock band have been to #29 twice here with "In My Blood" and "White Trash Millionaire".  This record moves up to #16 on the Mainstream Rock chart...

And now on to the rock radio format charts....

On the Mainstream Rock radio panel, Three Days Grace climb to the #1 spot with "Painkiller". It becomes their eleventh track to reach the top...

Rock band Crobot, from Pottsville, PA, drop in at #37 with "Nowhere To Hide", my "Rock Pick of the Week"...


Veteran Christian rock band Skillet rise to #39 with the title track from their album Rise. It follows "Not Gonna Die", which went to #9 on this chart...


 Nashville alternative rock group Framing Hanley come in at #40 with "Criminal". They went to #27 in 2008 with their cover of rapper Lil' Wayne's "Lollipop"...


Meanwhile, on the Alternative/Modern Rock chart,  "Fever" remains on top for a fifth week...

The top entry at #38 is a song that's hit #1 on the pop chart in both France and Germany. It's from French indie-folk duo Milky Chance, and it's called "Stolen Dance"...


At #39 are New York's own Semi Precious Weapons, led by six-foot-tall bisexual singer Justin Tranter, with "Aviation High"...


 Finally, on the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "hipster rock") format, The Black Keys are at #1 for a ninth week...

British modern rock giants Coldplay went to #1 on this chart with "Magic", and they follow it up at #26 with "A Sky Full Of Stars"...


The aforementioned "Stolen Dance" by Milky Chance is the other entry at #29...
