Hey gang, the weekend is coming to a close, and it's time to check out the new songs on the just-released official singles chart in Britain this week....

Singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran scores his first #1 hit in his home country with "Sing", the first single from his upcoming second album x....

A charity record benefiting the Teenage Cancer Trust by a collection of artist billed as the Neon Brotherhood arrives at #16. "Hope Ain't A Bad Thing" was recorded in honor of blogger and fundraiser Stephen Sutton, who passed away in May at the age of 19. The song was rush released and doesn't even sport a video or audio as yet.

London rapper Lethal Bizzle drops in at #20 with "The Drop", featuring Cheri Voncelle. This is his eighth top-40 hit in the UK as a solo act (he previously was in the top-ten group More Fire Crew); his solo best was his first as "Pow (Forward)" went to #11 in 2004..


Leicester indie-rockers Kasabian enter at #22 with the second track from their 48:13 album, Eez-Eh. The first, "Explodes", went to #52 earlier this year (and re-enters the chart this week)


London-based drum and bass musician Wilkinson comes in at #25 with "Half Light" featuring vocals from Tom Cane. He previously went to #8 with "Afterglow"...


Dutch remixer and producer R3Hab (aka Fadil El Ghoul) debuts at #37 with "Revolution" featuring Australian DJs/vocalists NERVO and Turkish/Dutch DJ Ummet Ozcan..


Raleigh Ritchie is the moniker actor Jacob Anderson uses for his music career, and the "Grey Worm" from The Game Of Thrones marches in at #58 with "Stronger Than Ever"...


American rapper Lil' Wayne is in at #75 with "Believe Me" featuring Drake. "Weezy" has had three top-40 hits in the UK so far as a lead artist, with "Mirror" featuring Bruno Mars going the highest at #17...


Pitbull drops in at #77 with the "official" song for the upcoming World Cup soccer games in Brazil, "We Are One (Ole Ola)" featuring Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leitte...


The title track to British indie-folk singer/songwriter Passenger's upcoming album Whispers moves in at #84...


Melodic hardcore rock band Lower Than Atlantis, from the southeast county of Hertfordshire, roar in at #86 with "Here We Go"...


The final new entry of the week at #95 is Scottish singer/songwriter Paolo Nutini with "Let Me Down Easy". It's the follow-up to "Scream (Funk My Life Up)", which made it to #12...
