This week's "robbed hit" is by the British  non-twin and non-Thompson trio the Thompson Twins, who racked up their first American top-40 hit in the spring of 1983 with "Lies". Written by the group and produced by Alex Sadkin, who also helmed Grace Jones' classic early-80s albums, "Love On Your Side" is the song that really turned me on to the group...

While the song didn't do as well as "Lies" in the states, hovering under the top-40, it was the band's first top-10 single in their home country, peaking at #9.

The 12" single also made the top-10 on the dance chart....
