Kraut Sweep: January 15, 2013...
I'm back with the latest songs making their way on to the official singles chart in Germany this week, as K-Pop star PSY recaptures the #1 spot for a third non-consecutive week with "Gangnam Style" (will it ever go away?)...
The top entry this week is by British singer and X Factor runner-up Olly Murs, who topped the chart in this country for two weeks last year with "Heart Skips A Beat". He returns at #17 with the infectious "Troublemaker" featuring American rapper Flo Rida in tow. Grade: A

German singer Schmidt (first name Elisa) comes in at #37 with "Heart Shaped Gun", a song that was used on that country's New Year's episode of crime show TATORT. So know you know how Lana Del Rey's Bond theme would sound. Grade: B-
German rapper Prinz Pi debuts at #54 wit "Unser Platz" ("Our Space"). It's epic, even if you're not fluent in the language. Grade: B
The last entry is the latest single by the Pet Shop Boys, who have topped the German charts four times, the first with "It's A Sin" back in 1987. They are back at #68 with "Memory Of The Future" from their sublime album Elysium...Grade: A
That's it for tonight...I'll return tomorrow with another song of the day, candletime, 6 of the 60s, and this week's Aussie sweep. Auf Weidersehen!
