twostepcub's music chart for August 15, 2014...

Another week has passed by, and it's time to count down my top 100 tunes from the week. This time out Sam Smith "stays" at #1 for an eighth week, while ultra-hot fun guy Jack Antonoff's Bleachers (pictured above) moves up a couple of notches in the top-10. Songs by Demi Lovato, Echosmith, and Milky Chance make the biggest jumps (moves of 10+ places highlighted in red), while former big hits from Tyler Farr, Phillip Phillips, Katy Perry, and DJ Snake "turn down" the chart. Happy 50th Anniversary, Mom and Pops!

There are ten songs making their debut on my chart this week (highlighted in blue), and if you click on any of them, you'll connect to the artists' official website. And here they are on video after the break...

(Click below to see the rest of the post)

The top entry of the week at #77 is the fifth single from country star Luke Bryan's Crash My Party album, "Roller Coaster". All four of the others made the top-40 on my list, with "That's My Kind Of Night" going all the way to #2 last year..

Mary Lambert, the "out" lesbian singer/songwriter that guested on Macklemore's classic "Same Love", scored her second solo hit on my list as "Secrets" moves in at #81. Her first, "She Keeps Me Warm" (an interpolation of her "Same Love" chorus) made it to my top-20...

Ed Sheeran peaked at #2 a few weeks back with the first track from his second album x, "Sing", which drops out of the top ten to #12 this week. Meanwhile, his next single, "Don't", which may or may not be about ex-girlfriend Ellie Goulding, lands at #88...

Veteran British dance music duo Basement Jaxx return to my chart after a break of ten years as "Never Say Never" comes in at #92...

The two hottest women in country music, Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood, team up at #93 for "Somethin' Bad"...

British pop songwriter Charli XCX, who has appeared on top-10 hits from Iggy Azalea and Icona Pop, scores her first solo hit as "Boom Clap" enters at #95...

Daughtry follow up their single "Waiting For Superman" with the song at #96, "Battleships"...

Alt rockers Weezer are back at #98 with their latest, "Back To The Shack". It's their first since "If You're Wondering If I Want You To (I Want You To)" made my top-10...

Former Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole plants her lucky seventh hit on my list as "Crazy Stupid Love" featuring British rapper Tinie Tempah spins in at #99...

The final new entry of the week at #100 is English "garage" producer Naughty Boy with "Home" featuring Sam Romans...

That's it for this week's list...I'll be back tomorrow as my five-part "chart sweeps" of the songs making the Billboard charts returns...
