Songoftheday 6/24/14 - When I go out I can see the world from inside, without a doubt I can shake my head and scream and shout...

Corey Hart - "Boy In The Box"
from the album Boy In The Box (1985)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #26 (one week)
Weeks in the Top-40: 6

Today's Song of the Day comes from Canadian singer/songwriter Corey Hart, whose second album had given him his biggest hit ever, "Never Surrender", in the summer of 1985. For its follow-up the album's title track was released, a frenetic pop/rock song written by the singer with the paranoid themes that pervaded his first album...

"Boy In The Box" became Corey's fourth top-40 pop hit in the U.S. in November of 1985. The 12" remix also climbed the Dance Club Play chart in Billboard magazine up to #19. In his native Canada, the single was his third top-10 hit, peaking at #4.
