Songoftheday 6/2/14 - So long now since you walked and left me, why did your love grow cold?

Katrina and the Waves - "Do You Want Crying"
from the album Katrina and the Waves (1985)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #37 (two weeks)
Weeks in the Top-40: 2

Today's song of the day comes from the bi-national rock group Katrina and the Waves, who broke through on both sides of the Atlantic with their top-10 hit "Walking On Sunshine". For their follow-up, they released "Do You Want Crying", written by their bassist Vince De La Cruz and sung by leader, namesake, and fellow American Katrina Leskanich, while British bandmates Kimberley Rew and Alex Cooper brought the guitar and drums along...

"Do You Want Crying" became the band's second top-40 hit in the States in September of 1985, though in England they barely managed to nick the chart at #96. The record also made the top-40 in Canada and Australia.
