This week's "robbed hit" was the breakthrough hit for one of my absolute favorite acts of the 80's British sibling soul group Five Star, who grew up in London, and modeled by father Buster Pearson to emulate the Jackson Five, but with three strong lead female singers and two brothers as backup. Buster, a minor recording artist in the 70s, instilled an almost military precision to their dancing and singing that gave British audiences a 'complete package'. They released their debut album Luxury Of Life in 1985, and the first single from the set was the frenetic energy of "All Fall Down", co-written by Barry Blue, who had previously been a successful artist in England and also produced disco group Heatwave's worldwide hits "Boogie Nights" and "Always and Forever". It was produced by Nick Martinelli with members of the soul group Loose Ends...


"All Fall Down" made it to a respectable #16 on the R&B chart in America, while climbing to #6 on the dance club play chart in Billboard, but the single stalled out at #65 on the pop chart in the U.S. In their native England, the record went to #15 on the singles chart, and started off a career that would churn out fifteen top-40 hits in the UK. They also captured my heart, and I've been a major fan ever since...
