Dance Sweep: October 12, 2013...

We're at the finish line of today's "chart sweeps" of the new songs making the charts in Billboard magazine, and this time I'm serving the latest dance jams in the clubs and on the radio.

On the DJ-polled Hot Dance Club Play chart, octogenarian Yoko Ono scores her eleventh #1 hit with "Walking On Thin Ice 2013". Coincidentally, her first #1 dance hit was also "Walking On Thin Ice" with different remixes back in 2003...

The first of the two debuts on the club chart at #44 is Australian indie-electronica duo Empire of The Sun with "DNA", my "Dance Pick of the Week".  It's the follow-up to their first #1 club hit, "Alive"...

Singer, dancer, and former Pussycat Doll Jessica Sutta has topped the dance charts twice, first in 2007 as a guest on Dave Aude's "Make It Last", then again with her own "Show Me" in 2011. She's back at #45 with "Lights Out"...

Meanwhile, on the radio-monitored Hot Dance Airplay/Mixshow chart, Avicii stays at #1 for a fourth week with "Wake Me Up!"...

Leaping in at #17 is New Zealand's Lorde with her Hot 100 #1 hit "Royals"...

Britney Spears is back at #23 with her new one, "Work Bitch"....

...and lastly, with a modest debut at #24 is Lady GaGa with her former #1 club hit "Applause"...

That's it for tonight...thank you for stopping by, and I'll be back tomorrow with another Song of the Day, part one of this week's "album sweep", and my British music recap. Have a great night!
