Aussie Sweep: October 9, 2013...


G'day mates, it's time again to head Down Under to check out the songs making the official sales chart in Australia this week, as Katy Perry holds tight for a sixth non-consecutive week at #1 with "Roar"...

 The top debut of the week is by singer Jessica Mauboy, who came in second on season 4 of Australian Idol back in 2006. Since then she's made the top-10 five times, with "Burn" topping the singles chart in 2008. She comes so close with her sixth, stopping at #2 with "Pop A Bottle (Fill Me Up)"...

The "winner" of this week's X Factor entries belongs (again) to Dami Im, with her performance of "Bridge Over Troubled Water" at #15. The Simon & Garfunkel original went to #2 here back in 1970...


Dani's competition in the show, Taylor Henderson, comes in at #27 with his version of "The Horses", a Rickie Lee Jones song that Daryl Braithwaite took to #1 on the Australian charts in 1991....


While Jason derulo remains in the top-5 here with his former #1 hit "Talk Dirty", he returns at #28 with "Marry Me"...


Russo-German DJ/producer Zedd follows up his top-20 hit "Clarity at #32 with "Stay The Night" featuring Hayley Williams, the lead singer of the rock group Paramore...


Rapper Illy from Melbourne debuts at #38 with "Youngbloods" featuring Ahren Stringer, bassist and singer from the Australian metalcore band Amity Affliction. It's his first top-40 hit...


Guy Sebastian, who won the first season of Australian Idol, enters at #73 with "Dare To Be Square". It's a charity single to aid anti-bullying effort Kids Helpline...


The third and final X Factor entry is by Jai Waetford at #83 with the Justin Bieber album track "That Should Be Me"...


Next up at #84 is will.i.am with his cut from the Great Gatsby reboot, "Bang Bang"...


 The last debut of the week is Pink with her album track "Walk Of Shame"...
