"Street Life" was the biggest pop and dance hit for the veteran jazz-soul outfit the Crusaders, who had been recording since the 1960's. Taken from the album Street Life, the slick number features vocals from Randy Crawford. It was their sole top-40 pop hit in 1979 at #36, while peaking on to Billboard magazine's R&B chart at #17. The track slipped on to their Disco/Dance Tracks list at #75. In England, the single was much bigger, reaching #5 on the pop list there.
