Billboard Hot 100 peak: #12 (two weeks)
Weeks in the Top-40: 11
Today's Song of the Day is by Canadian rockers Loverboy, who scored a pair of top-10 hits in America with "Lovin' Every Minute Of It" and "This Could Be The Night". Their next move in 1986 was a contribution to the soundtrack for the Tom Cruise blockbuster movie Top Gun. "Heaven In Your Eyes", written by fellow countrymen Debra Mae Moore and John Dexter along with input from lead singer Mike Reno and guitarist Paul Dean, was released as the third single from the soundtrack album after Kenny Loggins' #2 hit "Danger Zone" and new-wave band Berlin's #1 "Take My Breath Away". "Heaven In Your Eyes" climbed to the top-20 on the American pop chart in October of 1986, as well as making it to #24 on the Canadian singles chart as well.
