This week's "robbed hit" comes from the Samoan-American family group the Jets, who broke through in America with the pop confection "Crush On You". For the third single from their debut album the Wolfgramms released "Private Number". Written by Jerry Knight and Aaron Zigman,continued in the post-disco funk vein paved by the likes of the "Star(r)" bands of the early 80s...

While "Private Number" made it to the top-30 of the R&B chart at #28, the single stalled on the pop list under the top-40 in September of 1986. However the siblings would get their momentum back in no time courtesy of a love ballad in the next year.
