twostepcub's music chart for January 23, 2015...
Friday is finally here, and it's time to run down my top 100 songs of the week. Hozier lands on top for a fifth non-consecutive week, while Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars (pictured above) dance into the top-3. Former big hits from Bastille and alt-J drop off my list, while songs from Erasure, Hozier, and Kenny Chesney make some of the biggest jumps (moves of 10+ places highlighted in red). The top new entry at #84 comes from Swedish dance music act Cazzette with "Blind Heart". A few years ago they made my top-40 with "Beam Me Up". This new track features vocals from Terri B!, who also appears at #50 on D.O.N.S.' remake of "Big Fun"...
House music legend Tony Moran is back at #86 with his version of the Phyllis Nelson club classic "I Like You", featuring singer Debby Holiday...
Australian pop/dance singer Betty Who follows up her #1 club hit "Somebody Loves You" with "All Of You" at #87...
British DJ Philip George interpolates Stevie Wonder's "My Cherie Amour" for the song at #96, "Wish You Were Mine"...
French singer Kendji Girac, who won his country's version of The Voice, comes in at #99 with his biggest hit to date, "Andalouse"...
Speaking of The Voice, the final debut of the week at #100 is by a former contestant on the American version, RaeLynn, with her country hit "God Made Girls"...
That's it for today...I'll be back tomorrow checking out the songs making the Billboard charts. Cheers!
