Kenny Loggins - "Heart To Heart"
from the album High Adventure (1982)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #15 (five weeks)
Weeks in the top-40: 13

Today's Song of the Day is by Washington State-born Kenny Loggins, who kicked off his High Adventure album with the stunt-casting rockin' first single "Don't Fight It", which made the top-20 in October. The followup, "Heart To Heart", was purely back in his yacht-rock wheelhouse, with co-writer Michael McDonald singing backup and other co-writer David Foster producing.

While "Heart To Heart" managed to peak just two rungs higher than "Don't Fight It", it stayed in the top-40 over twice as long, and remains the biggest hit by far from the set. It also went to #3 on the adult-contemporary (soft-rock) chart, and was funky enough (credit McDonald on that) to be played on R&B radio, making #71 on that list. It also was Kenny's sixth top-40 hit in Canada.

Up tomorrow: Stuart Leslie Goddard goes after a teetotaler.
