Aussie Sweep: October 10, 2012...






G'day gang, it's time to take another trip down under to check out the newest music selling over in Australia, according to their official music charts. This week PSY stays at #1 for a second week with "Gangnam Style"...

The top debut this week is by British boyband sensation One Direction, with their new single "Live While We're Young" at #2. It beats their previous high mark, "One Thing", by one notch...

The second song to rocket into the top-10 is Rihanna's new track "Diamonds". She's had seven #1 records in Australia, her last being last year's "S&M"...


Entering at #11 is Ke$ha, who has topped the charts here twice, with "Tik Tok" and "We R Who We R".  "Die Young" is from her upcoming album Warrior...


Rapper Pitbull has gone to #2 twice here as a lead artist, with "I Know You Want Me" in 2009 and last year's "Give Me Everything". He latest, "Don't Stop The Party" featuring TJR, the third single from his upcoming Global Warming, comes in at #23...


Taylor Swift's third promotional track for her upcoming album, Red, is the title track, and it's at #30. "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" is still going strong here at #7..


British producer/singer Labrinth arrives at #33 with "Treatment", his third top-40 single in Australia from his debut album Electronic Earth. "Earthquake" went to #4 earlier this year...


Nicki Minaj may not be on Mariah's list, but she's still on the list down here at #36 with "Va Va Voom", the third charting single in Australia from her Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded album. The first, "Starships", is her biggest hit yet at #2...


Usher debuts at #66 with "Numb". He's done well with short song titles, as his two #1 hits are "Yeah" and "OMG"....


X Factor Australia favorites The Collective score their third charting single in a row with their cover of the New Kids On The Block hit "You Got It (The Right Stuff)" at #78. The original was NKOTB's only #1 hit in this country twentyfour years ago...


Another X Factor finalist, Bella Ferraro, is in at #84 with her version of Joni Mitchell's "Big Yellow Taxi". Joni's version made the top-10 here in 1970..


The final debut is by Australian rock group Grinspoon arrive at #92 with their latest, "Passerby". They've had six top-40 hits in their home country since 1997, with their biggest so far being "Hard Act To Follow" at #24...
