Soul Sweep: October 6, 2012...

Hey guys, I'm back with part three of today's "chart sweeps" of the latest songs to make the weekly music charts at Billboard magazine. This time we check out the latest jams on R&B radio.

On the main R&B/HipHop chart, Latin soul singer Miguel racks up a third week at #1 with "Adorn".

The top debut this week is by Philly rapper Meek Mill, who is at #72 with "Young And Gettin' It", from his upcoming full-length debut Dreams & Nightmares. His track "Amen" recently made it to #5 on this chart. It features Kirko Bangz, who was also at #5 this year with "Drank In My Cup". This track is nothin' new in the brag/swagger track, except for the AutoTune on 11...

Another rapper, California's Tyga, saw his "Rack City" make the R&B top-5. His latest, "Do My Dance" at #91, is from his upcoming mixtape Well Done 3, and features 2 Chainz, who topped the chart supporting Kanye West on "Mercy". Oh lord, I guess this is another stripper track. (MAJOR NSFW)

Faith Evans has been to #1 once so far as a lead artist, on 1999's "Never Gonna Let You Go", and thirteen years later, she sees herself on a reality show R&B Divas, and her track "Tears Of Joy" arrives at #92, and it's a big ballad in that same style...

Singer Ciara pops in at #96 with "Sorry", from her upcoming fifth album, One Woman Army. She's been to #1 on the R&B chart three times; twice as a lead artist ("Goodies" and "Promise") and once in a featured credit (Bow Wow's "Like You")...

The last new entry on the main R&B list is by The Game, who topped the R&B list in 2004 with "Hate It Or Love It". He's back at #97 with a featured cast of Chris Brown, Tyga, Wiz Khalifa, and Lil' Wayne on "Celebration"...(NSFW)

Over on the Adult-R&B radio chart, Anita Baker takes over at #1 with "Lately"...

There are two new tracks on this chart this week, and first up if Elle Varner, who made the top-20 of this list this summer with "Refill". Her newest, "I Don't Care", comes in at #37...

The other debut is by singer Lenny Williams, who sung lead for the Tower Of Power in the 70s, and has had two hits on the Adult R&B list, both peaking at #25 - 2006's "Tuesday" and "Still" from earlier this year. His followup, "This Is For The One That Got Away", is at #38, and he's just as good at 68 years old as ever...

That's it for this part - I'm stoked over the Varner and Williams tracks... Stay tuned for more chart goodness with the latest on country radio... Groove on!
