"Basstronic" was a club hit for the "Unknown DJ", the moniker used by producer Andre Pierre Manuel. Released as a stand-alone single, the song was written and produced by Manuel (under the alias "Spock"). On Billboard magazine's Dance Club Play chart, the single peaked at #48 in 1989.
