Disco Dessert 1/6/23 - "Bodyshine" by Instant Funk...

 

 

"Bodyshine" was a club hit for the R&B group Instant Funk. Appearing on their album Witch Doctor, the song was written by the band's Raymond Earl, Kim Miller, and Scott Miller along with arranger Larry Davis, and produced by Bunny Sigler. On Billboard magazine's Disco Top-100, the Witch Doctor album was listed as a single entry, with "Bodyshine" and "Slap, Slap, Lickedy Lap" listed as key DJ cuts. It peaked there at #28 in 1979, while just missing the R&B top-40 at #41 and "Bubbled under" the pop Hot 100 at #103.
