Disco Dessert 1/17/23 - "Love Magnet" by Freda Payne...

 

 

"Love Magnet" was a club hit for singer Freda Payne. Appearing on her album Stares and Whispers, the song was written by producer Frank Wilson with John Footman and Judy Wieder. On Billboard magazine's National Disco Action Top-40, the single peaked at #18, while also making it to #85 on their R&B Singles chart. Freda, who had a big pop hit in 1970 with "Band Of Gold", is the sister of Scherrie Payne of the later Supremes lineup.
