"Everybody Dance" was a club and radio hit for the Minneapolis-based funk band Ta Mara and the Seen. Appearing on their debut album Ta Mara and the Seen, the song was produced by Jesse Johnson, who co-wrote the track with lead singer Margaret "Ta Mara" Cox. On Billboard magazine's Dance/Disco Club Play chart, the single peaked at #9 in 1985, while rising to #3 on their R&B Singles chart and #24 on the pop Hot 100.
