"West End Girls" was a huge club and radio hit for the synthpop duo Pet Shop Boys. Appearing on their debut album Please, the song was written by the act's Chris Lowe and Neil Tennant, and produced by Stephen Hague, with a dance remix done by Shep Pettibone. On Billboard magazine's Dance/Disco Club Play chart, the single spent two weeks at #1 in 1986, while also topping the pop charts in the US and the United Kingdom.
