Disco Dessert 6/12/22 - "Glad To Know You" by Chas Jankel...
"Glad To Know You" was a big club hit for English new wave musician Chas Jankel, a former member of the group Ian Dury & The Blockheads. Appearing on his album Questionnaire, the song was written by Jankel and Dury, and produced by Chas with Pete Van Hooke and Philip Bagenal. On Billboard magazine's Disco Top-80 chart, "Glad To Know You" was listed along with the other cuts on the 12" single, "3,000,000 Synths" and his 1980 track "Ai No Corrida". The single spent seven weeks at #1 there in 1982. It also climbed to #57 on the R&B Singles chart, but surprisingly only "bubbled under" the Hot 100 pop list at #102.
