"J'ouvert" ("I Open") was a club hit for Trinidadian steel drum player John Gibbs with the Jam Band. Released as a stand-alone single, the song was written by Gibbs, who produced the track with Louis Anthony DeLise. On Billboard magazine's Disco Top-100 chart, the single peaked at #54 in 1979.
