"The Great Commandment" was a big club hit for the German new-wave trio Camouflage. Appearing on their debut album Voices & Images, the song was written by bandmates Heiko Maile, Marcus Meyn, and Oliver Kressig, and co-produced by the group with Alex Henninger. On Billboard magazine's Dance Club Play chart, the single spent three weeks at #1 in 1988. It also climbed to #3 on the Alternative Rock radio chart, and #59 on the pop Hot 100.
