"The Child (Inside)" was a club hit for South African alternative dance music trio Qkumba Zoo. Appearing on their international debut album Wake Up & Dream, the song was written by members Levannah and Owl and produced by Allan Goldswain and Brian O'Shey. On Billboard magazine's Dance Club Play chart, the single spent a week at #1 in 1996, while making it to #69 on the pop Hot 100.
