Today's song of the day comes from Cuban-born singer/songwriter Jon Secada, who broke free from Gloria Estefan's shadow as her backup vocalist and landed a huge pop hit in the summer of 1992 with "Just Another Day". His follow-up single would be the bright and shiny adult-pop song "Do You Believe In Us". Written by Secada with Miguel Morejon and produced by Gloria's husband Emilio Estefan, the record has him questioning his lover's intent, though with the most major-key production possible...

"Do You Believe In Us" became Jon's second top-40 pop hit in the U.S. in December of 1992. The song spent a week at #3 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary, or "easy listening" radio format chart as well. Internationally, the single hit #3 for two weeks in Canada, and reached the top-40 in Germany (#19), the UK (#30), New Zealand (#33), Sweden (#34), and Australia (#38). The Spanish-language version of the song, "Cree En Nuestro Amor", topped Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart.
