Songoftheday 3/8/16 - You say that everything will work itself out, but let me tell you now what you don't know about...
"Sayin' Sorry (Don't Make It Right)" - Denise Lopez
from the album Truth In Disguise (1988)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #31 (one week)
Weeks in the Top-40: 5
Today's song of the day comes from Denise Lopez, who came from Queens and after a few indie released under various monikers, she released a proper single under her own name, "If You Feel It". That track went to #3 on Billboard's Dance Singles Sales chart and #22 on their Club Play list, getting her a full-album deal in the process. Truth in Disguise came out in 1988, and the first single, "Sayin' Sorry (Don't Make It Right)", written and produced by Eric Li, the song came at the right time now for mainstream radio to pick up on...
"Sayin' Sorry" became Denise's only top-40 pop hit in August of 1988. The single also went to #6 on Billboard's Dance Club Play chart. A re-release of "If You Feel It" snuck on to the Hot 100 at #94. In 1990, her lead single from her follow-up album, "Don't You Wanna Be Mine", went to #86 on the pop chart in America.
