Today's song of the day is from Philly pop/soul duo Daryl Hall and John Oates, who switched record labels in 1988 and still continued their streak of top-ten pop hits with the first single from their Oooh Yeah! album, "Everything Your Heart Desires". The second release from the record was the laid-back soft-pop of "Missed Opportunity, written by the pair along with long-time collaborator Sara Allen...
"Missed Opportunity" became the second top-40 pop hit from Oooh Yeah! in August of 1988. The single was most successful at the Adult Contemporary radio format, peaking at #8 on that chart in Billboard magazine, while crossing over to #68 on their R&B chart (their most recent appearance there). Internationally, the song went to #20 on the Canadian singles chart.
