Brit Sweep: March 25, 2016...






It's time to shift over the Atlantic to check out the songs making their debut on the official music "singles" chart in the England and the UK this week, as Mike Posner spends a second week on top with "I Took A Pill In Ibiza"...

The highest debut of the week at #17 comes from British neo-house duo Blonde, who recruit singer Craig David for "Nothing Like This". It's their fourth single to reach the chart; last year they went to #4 with "All Cried Out" with Glee's Alex Newell, while Craig has racked up fourteen top-10 hits in the UK, with his first two, "Fill Me In" and "7 Days", going to #1 back in 2000...

The sixth track from Grammy New Artist nominee James Bay's debut album The Chaos and the Calm, "Running", comes in at #60. His breakthrough single "Hold Back the River" went to #2 in his native Britain. He performed the song on the Sport Relief charity telethon on BBC last week...



 Ariana Grande previews her upcoming Dangerous Woman album with "Be Alright", which arrives at #65. The title track came in at #17 last week and dips to #25...


Australian "rapper" Iggy Azalea returns at #80 with her latest single "Team". It's the lead single from her upcoming second album Digital Distortion. Her debut set The New Classic sent five singles into the top-20, with "Black Widow" with Rita Ora reaching #4...


Zayn is the first former One Direction member to release a solo album, which comes out today, and the fourth track from Mind Of Mine to make the singles chart is "Befour", which lands at #85. Radio hit "Pillowtalk" moves back into the top-10 at #10...


The final new entry at #88 is from Frenchman DJ Snake, who teams up with British singer Bipolar Sunshine for "Middle". As a lead artist, its his fourth top-40 hit, with both "Turn Down For What" and "Lean On" (the latter with Major Lazer) reaching #4...
