Songoftheday 1/31/16 - As I watch you move across the moonlit room, there's so much tenderness in your loving...

"Hands To Heaven" - Breathe
from the album All That Jazz (1988)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #2 (two weeks)
Weeks in the Top-40: 16

Today's song of the day comes from the British "sophist-pop" band Breathe, who came together in London in the mid-80s, and released their first album in 1988. The first American single from the set, "Hands To Heaven", was a slow-paced vocal workout from lead singer David Glasper...

"Hands To Heaven"  became Breathe's first American success, reaching the top-10 on the pop chart in August of 1988. The single peaked at the runner-up spot on Billboard's Adult Contemporary (or "easy listening") radio chart. Internationally, the song went to #4 in their native UK, as their also did in Norway, and made the top ten in New Zealand and top-40 in Germany and Sweden.
