Rock Sweep: January 9, 2016...
Round two of this week's 'music sweeps' is up, checking out the songs making their way on the charts in Billboard magazine, and this time up, I've got the latest on rock radio...
On their main Rock Airplay chart, the Cold War Kids spend an eighth non-consecutive week at #1 with "First"...
Icelandic indie-rock group Of Monsters and Men sail in at #39 with "Wolves Without Teeth", the third single from their second album Beneath The Skin, and my "Rock Pick of the Week". The first, "Crystals", climbed to #6 this past summer. The song also moves up to #29 on the Alternative chart as well. The video for the new one, featuring lipsyncing twins, is mesmerizing...

Another track with an outstanding video is the new one from British alt-rock band Wolf Alice with "Bros". The single is up at #12 on the Triple-A chart as well. It follows "Moaning Lisa Smile", which peaked at #19 on this chart...
And now on to the rock radio format charts...
On the harder-edged Mainstream Rock radio panel, Disturbed spend a fourth week on top with "The Light"...
The sole entry on this chart at #39 is newcomer Andrew Watt with "Ghost In My Head"...
Meanwhile, on the Alternative/Modern Rock chart, "Stressed Out" from twenty-one pilots leads for an eighth week...
British singer/songwriter, who made it into the top ten on the Triple-A format last year with "The Next Storm", sees the song reach this list at #40...
Lastly, on the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "hipster rock") format, Vance Joy climbs back to #1 for a second non-consecutive week with "The Fire and the Flood"...
Elle King follows up her #2 hit "Ex's and Oh's" at #29 with "Under The Influence" (last week's "Rock Pick"), which also jumps to #32 on the Alternative chart...
