Dance Sweep: January 23, 2016...


I'm up to the final installment of today's "music sweeps", checking out the songs hitting the charts in Billboard magazine, and I'll close things out with the latest dance jams in the clubs and on the radio...

On the DJ-polled Dance Club Play chart, Lady Gaga moves to #1 with her Oscar-nominated "Til It Happens To You". It's her 13th chart-topper, and her first since "Applause" in 2013...

Jumping on to the chart at #39 is British neo-house act 99 Souls with "The Girl Is Mine", my "Dance Pick of the Week". The record is a "mash-up" of Destiny Child's "Girl" with Brandy's "The Boy Is Mine", with newly recorded vocals from the latter. The single is a top ten hit in the UK...

French DJ Natty Rico teams up with Canadian actress/singer Melissa Molinaro, rapper D-one, and Latin singer Frankie J for "Frozen" at #46...


Sia returns at #47 with her latest, "Alive". She's also at #32 as a featured artist on David Guetta's "Bang My Head"...


Swedish electropop artist Seinabo Sey lands at #48 with "Younger"...


Coldplay rides in at #49 with "Adventure Of A Lifetime". The British modern rock band has gone to #1 twice on this chart, with "Talk" in 2006 and with "Sky Full Of Stars" in 2014...


House music diva Amuka and DJ JST pull in at #50 with "High Horse"...


Meanwhile, on the radio-monitored Dance Airplay/Mixshow chart, the Chainsmoker make it to the top with "Roses"...

Daya, aka singer Grace Tandon, leaps in at #29 with "Hide Away", which is in the pop top 40...


Remix team Dirty South are in at #32 with "Find A Way" featuring Rudy...
