Robbed hit of the week 6/8/15 - Anita Baker's "Same Ole Love (365 Days A Year)"...

"Same Ole Love (365 Days A Year)" - Anita Baker
from the album Rapture (1986)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #44

This week's "robbed hit" comes from lite jazz-soul songstress Anita Baker, whose classic Rapture album had rewarded her with a top-10 pop hit with "Sweet Love" and a top-40 follow-up in "Caught Up In The Rapture". Her next single was the more breezy and upbeat "Same Ole Love (365 Days A Year)", written by Marilyn McLeod and Darryl Roberts....

While "Same Ole Love" made the top 10 on both the R&B (#8) and Adult Contemporary (#6) charts in Billboard, the record stalled right under the top-40 on the pop chart in May of 1987.

Love this song, and the rollerskating still cracks me up. Also cracking me up...the earlier concert clip listed as "rare". I think that's from One Night of Rapture, and that was a pretty big deal when it came out.
