Today's SOTD comes from the folksy rock band Bruce Hornsby and the Range, who had broke through on pop radio with their #1 hit "The Way It Is" and followed it up with the top-5 "Mandolin Rain". For their next single the Virginia group re-released their original lead single from their The Way It Is album. "Every Little Kiss", written by Hornsby and co-produced with Elliot Scheiner, was a top-20 rock hit in America in 1986, and nicked the pop chart as well, peaking at #72 and the adult contemporary list at #37. Now, with the momentum of their previous two releases, the jazzier "Every Little Kiss" got a better reception on mainstream airwaves...


"Every Little Kiss" reached the top-20 on the American pop chart in July of 1987. The single crossed over to #3 on its second run on the adult contemporary (or "Easy Listening") radio chart in Billboard. Over the border, the record finally hit the top-40 in Canada at #36...
