twostepcub's music chart for June 14, 2013...
Hey gang, it's another Friday, and time for my top 100 tunes from the past week. This time out Macklemore & Ryan Lewis take their second single to #1 on my list, while Capital Cities (pictured above) leap into the top-10. This week there are nine new songs on my chart (highlighted in blue), and if you click on any of them you will be connected to their official website for more info. And here they are, after the jump...
(Click below to see the rest of the post)
The top debut of the week belongs to veteran house-music DJ Tony Moran, who teams up with "diva" dance singer Deborah Cooper for "Heartbeat" at #73. It reminds me of Cooper's work with the late Peter Rauhofer on the Club 69 projects...
Digging in at #75 is Bruno Mars' with the third single from his Unorthodox Jukebox set, "Treasure". The disco-styled track is already a fave of mine...
Carrie Underwood also returns with the fourth hit from her Blown Away album, "See You Again", at #87..
Selena Gomez drops the Scene at #89 with the faux-Eastern rhythms of "Come and Get It"...
British newcomer Frank Turner arrives at #94 with his first hit "Recovery"...
One of my all-time "guilty pleasure" bands are Army of Lovers, and side-project Gravitonas features that group's leader, Alexander Bard, along with singer Andreas Ohm. Their latest to reach my chart is "Incredible" at #97...
Newcomer Kirsty is in at #98 with her club hit "Hands High"...
Family country group the Henningsens, with dad Brian and his kids Clara and Aaron, debut at #99 with their first single "American Beautiful"...
The last entry at #100 is the former British #1 hit "La La La" by producer/musician Naughty Boy with singer Sam Smith....
That's it for now...thanks for stopping by, and I'll be back tomorrow with another Song of the Day, and my five-part 'chart sweeps" of the new songs making the Billboard charts. Cheers!
