Soul Sweep: April 20, 2013...
Part three of today's "chart sweeps" sampling the new songs reaching the weekly music charts in Billboard magazine, and now it's time for the latest on R&B radio..
On the main R&B/HipHop Airplay chart, Drake climbs to #1 with "Started From The Bottom"..
The top debut all the way up at #14 is Chris Brown with his new single from his upcoming album X, "Fine China"...

Neo-soul singer Joe returns at #46 with "I'd Rather Have A Love". He topped the chart in 2000 with "Stutter", and was a featured artist on Mariah Carey's R&B charttopper "Thank God I Found You"...The new song has already made the top-20 on the Adult R&B format...This song is my "Soul Pick of the Week"...
Chrisette Michele comes in at #49 with her smooth "A Couple Of Forevers". Like the Joe track, this is also in the Adult R&B top-20...
Meanwhile, on the older-skewing Adult R&B format chart, Tamar Braxton scores her first #1 hit with "Love And War"...
There are two more urban-leaning tracks from Rihanna debuting on the chart this week, not sure why, maybe the stations were shuffled...The first at #36 is her top-10 R&B hit "Loveeeeee Song" featuring Future...
Sandwiched in between Rihanna's skanky numbers is gospel singer Hezekiah Walker with "Every Praise" at #38
..and rounding it out at #40 is Rihanna's recent R&B hit "Pour It Up" which topped the main list for six weeks...
That does it for the soul side of the house...I'll return with the newest on country radio....
